Common troubleshooting methods for diesel engine fuel supply system

During the operation of diesel engine, various faults will occur due to natural wear of parts and improper use and maintenance. Fuel supply system and ignition system often fail. Sometimes both systems fail at the same time, which will cause more complex fault phenomena and bring certain difficulties to troubleshooting. Fault phenomenon of diesel engine fuel supply system without oil:
 
1. The internal combustion engine cannot start.
2. After adding a small amount of gasoline to the carburetor, the machine can start, but it will stop soon.


 
Reason
 
1. There is no oil in the diesel tank.
2. The oil pipe is blocked.
3. Damage to the oil pipe or oil pipe joint causes serious oil leakage.
4. The diesel oil filter has not been cleaned for a long time or the gasoline tank has not been cleaned, and impurities block the oil pipe or filter.
5. The diesel pump fails.
6. The carburetor oil inlet pipe joint or the filter at the joint is blocked, the oil channels, the main oil metering hole and the main nozzle are blocked, and the triangular oil needle is stuck in the triangular needle seat, causing no oil.


 
Analysis and troubleshooting of oil failure
First, check whether there is oil in the gasoline tank and whether the oil switch is turned on. To find the location of the oil circuit blockage, the segmented compression method is generally used: unplug the oil pipe from the carburetor, let the unplugged end be lower than the fuel tank position, and check whether the oil pipe flows oil. If no oil flows out, the blockage is before the oil pipe. You can blow air into the oil pipe with your mouth, which can generally clear it. If the oil pipe flows oil, the blockage is in the carburetor. If the carburetor is blocked inside, you can check it with the oil test rod. If no oil flows out when the oil test rod is pressed, the blockage point is at the oil inlet; if oil flows out, the blockage point is at the oil measuring hole or the fuel injection pipe. After the blockage point is determined, the carburetor can be disassembled to eliminate the fault.


 
Diesel engines equipped with diesel pumps can also determine the location of the oil circuit blockage by pumping oil by hand: if it feels very light when pumping oil by hand, the blockage point is after the diesel pump; if it feels very heavy when pumping oil by hand, the blockage point is before the diesel pump.
