Selection of lubricant performance indicators for diesel generators:
When selecting lubricants, the working conditions (i.e., working conditions) of the actual equipment should be considered comprehensively, as well as the oils specified or recommended in the manual of the mechanical equipment manufacturer and the oils specified or recommended by the lubricant manufacturer. In practice, the oils specified or recommended in the manual of the mechanical equipment manufacturer are often used, thinking that this is safe, but in fact it is unscientific and there are great risks in selecting oils in this way.
Selection of lubricant performance indicators:
(1) Viscosity. Viscosity is one of the indicators for the classification and grading of various lubricants, and is of decisive significance for quality identification and determination. The viscosity of equipment oil is generally determined by design or calculation data and then checking relevant standards. When selecting oils for actual vehicles, the recommendations of the equipment manufacturer should be referred to, and then a scientific and reasonable choice should be made based on the actual working conditions of the vehicle.
(2) Flash point. The flash point is mainly a safety indicator for the storage, transportation and use of lubricants, and is also an indicator for controlling the fraction and volatility of lubricants during production. The temperature specified by the flash point index should be 1/2 higher than the actual use temperature. For example, the oil temperature of the internal combustion engine oil pan does not exceed 120℃, so the flash point of the internal combustion engine oil is stipulated to be 180℃. In actual use, if the cooling and heat dissipation of the lubricating oil is poor and the oil temperature exceeds the flash point, the oil will spontaneously ignite. Therefore, the heat dissipation of the oil has a great impact on the service life and safety of the equipment, and attention should be paid to the monitoring of the working temperature of the oil.
(3) Pour point. The pour point is an indirect indicator of the low-temperature fluidity of the lubricating oil during storage, transportation and use. Experience has shown that the operating temperature of general lubricating oil must be 5-10℃ higher than the pour point.
(4) Selection of oil grade
For lubricating oils of the same viscosity, different oil grades have very different lubricating effects, which should be determined based on the working conditions of the equipment, the requirements of the manufacturer and the oil description. Strive to meet the lubrication technical requirements and be economical and reasonable.
