The working principle of
energy storage power supply is mainly to convert electrical energy into other forms of energy for storage and release it when needed. Energy storage power supply can be a large-capacity mobile power supply that can store electrical energy and power other devices.
Working principles of different types of energy storage power supply 1. Lithium-ion battery : Lithium-ion batteries store electrical energy through chemical reactions. When charging, lithium atoms become lithium ions and migrate to the negative electrode through the electrolyte, and combine with external electrons to form lithium atoms for storage; when discharging, this process is reversible, and lithium ions return to the positive electrode to form current for power supply.
2. Sodium-sulfur battery : Sodium-sulfur battery works at high temperature, with liquid sulfur at the positive electrode and liquid sodium at the negative electrode, separated by electrolyte. When discharging, sodium ions combine with sulfur through the electrolyte to form polysulfides, and electrons flow through the external circuit to generate voltage; when charging, the process is reversed.
3. Pumped storage : Pumped storage uses water pumps to send water from a low-level reservoir to a high-level reservoir to store electrical energy during low-power consumption, and releases water energy to drive turbines to generate electricity during peak power consumption.
4. Compressed air energy storage: Compressed air is stored during low electricity consumption, and high-pressure air is released during peak electricity consumption to drive gas turbines to generate electricity.
Application scenarios of energy storage power supplies
Energy storage power supplies are widely used in power grid regulation, new energy power generation, new energy vehicle charging stations and other fields. In the power grid, energy storage power supplies can help smooth loads, adjust frequencies, and improve power grid stability; in new energy power generation, energy storage power supplies can reduce the impact of instantaneous changes on the power grid; in new energy vehicle charging stations, energy storage power supplies can reduce the impact of large-scale instantaneous charging on the power grid and take advantage of the price difference between peaks and valleys.
