The operating precautions for
Weichai generators in low-temperature environments include the following aspects:
1. Drain water too early or do not drain cooling water: Before turning off the engine, let the engine run at idle speed until the cooling water temperature drops below 60 ℃ and the water is not hot to the touch before turning off the engine and draining water. If the cooling water is drained too early, the body will suddenly shrink and crack when exposed to cold air at high temperatures. When the temperature drops below -4 ℃, it is necessary to drain the cooling water from the diesel engine cooling water tank, as the water will freeze and increase in volume at 0 ℃, which may cause damage to the radiator of the cooling water tank.
2. Fuel selection: The low temperature in winter reduces the fluidity and viscosity of diesel, making it difficult to spray, resulting in poor atomization, deterioration of combustion, and a decrease in the power and economic performance of diesel engines. Therefore, light diesel with low pour point and good ignition performance should be selected. Generally, it is required that the pour point of the diesel engine should be 7-10 ℃ lower than the current seasonal temperature in the local area.
3. Startup method: When starting a diesel engine in a low-temperature environment, the abnormal startup method of starting without water (starting first, then adding cooling water) cannot be used. The correct preheating method is to first cover the insulation blanket on the water tank, open the drain valve, and continuously inject clean soft water at 60-70 ℃ into the water tank. When the water flowing out of the drain valve feels hot, close the drain valve and inject clean soft water at 90-100 ℃ into the water tank. Then, shake the crankshaft to ensure that all moving parts are properly pre lubricated before starting.
4. Low temperature load operation: After the diesel engine starts and catches fire, it should be idling at low to medium speed for a few minutes, and then put into load operation when the cooling water temperature reaches 60 ℃. This can avoid severe machine wear caused by low body temperature and high oil viscosity.
5. Body insulation: When the temperature is low, it is easy to cause excessive cooling of the generator set during operation. Therefore, insulation is the key to making good use of generator sets in low-temperature environments. Cold proof equipment such as insulation sleeves and curtains should be equipped.
6. Fuel system and lubricating oil: In cold environments, fuel systems and lubricating oils suitable for low-temperature environments should be selected. The use of antifreeze additives in coolant can prevent the engine from freezing and cracking.
7. Battery: Before the cold season begins, check the electrolyte level, viscosity, and unit voltage. If the diesel engine is not used for a long time and is at a very low temperature, the battery should be removed and stored indoors in a warmer place.
8. Parking: When parking in cold weather, the load should be unloaded first, and then idle for 1-2 minutes until the water and oil temperatures drop before parking. If antifreeze additives are not added to the coolant, the drain valves or water plugs on the engine body, oil cooler cover, radiator, inlet pipe, etc. must be opened to drain the coolant completely to prevent the engine from freezing and cracking.
Through the above measures, it is possible to effectively ensure the normal operation of Weichai generators in low-temperature environments and extend their service life.
